    AFC's New You Challenge - Official Rules & Challenge Description

    What is The New You Challenge?

    AFC's New You Challenge is an accountability, goal setting and motivation program specifically designed to help you stick with your New Year's Resolution this year so that you won't be making the same one again next year!

    Anyone who wishes to engage in a healthy lifestyle but can’t seem to stick with a program will certainly benefit and is encouraged to participate.

    The Challenge lasts for 90 days and will take place entirely online - right here at AlbanyFitClub.com. The program is designed and led by 70lb weight loss success story, Dale Kelley, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer & ACE Certified Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant.


    Challenge Dates
    Scoring Begins: Monday - January 18, 2010
    Scoring Ends: 11:59 PM EST, Sunday, April 11, 2010
    Voting Round: April 15 2010 - 11:59 PM EST April 18, 2010
    Winner Announced: April 19, 2010


    Prize

    A $500 dollar certified check will be issued to the ultimate challenge winner.


    Is this a weight loss contest?

    No. The New You Challenge is an accountability, motivation, and goal setting program. It is designed to help you establish healthy lifestyle habits - A.K.A. the things we all know we should be doing in order to achieve our health, fitness and/or weight loss goals.


    Will I lose weight if I follow this program?


    Provided you are creating a caloric deficit - via diet, and/or exercise - yes.

    The New You Challenge is a motivation, accountability, and goal setting program. These are necessary components of any weight loss plan that are often missing in commercial weight loss programs.

    Despite what the $30+ billion a year weight loss industry spends millions in advertising to try to convince you of (so that you keep giving them your money) there is one, and ONLY one way to lose weight – to lose weight you must consistently consume fewer calories than your body requires to maintain its current weight.

    But you knew that already didn’t you? It’s not rocket science!! The rocket science part is figuring out HOW to create the deficit without starving, weeks to months long weight loss plateaus, cravings, feelings of deprivation, fatigue, finding foods & meal ideas you actually enjoy, etc, etc, etc!

    The point of this challenge and Albany Fit Club in general is to help you find more effective ways to create that caloric deficit AND keep you motivated so that you remain consistent long enough to reach your goal!



    So if it’s not a weight loss contest, how will the winner be chosen?

    Participants will be scored based on completion of challenge tasks. All participants who score 90% or higher will move on to the final voting round. All of these tasks are verifiable – e.g., there will not be points awarded for following your nutrition and/or workout plan as there is no way to verify what someone is actually eating or doing at the gym.

    That said, ultimately it will be your results or lack there-of (as illustrated in your before and after photos) which will (likely) determine the winner. You won’t get results if you don’t stick with your nutrition and workout plan! The New You Challenge is designed to help you do just that!


    How Do I Sign Up?

    Step 1. If you haven't done so already - please visit this link to become a registered user of the Albany Fit Club Website. You will receive a confirmation email. You must click on the link in that email.

    Step 2. Click here to read the Complete New You Challenge Description.

    Step 3. If you decide you would like to participate in the Challenge you will need to become a due paying member of Albany Fit Club.

    Dues:
    Join on or before January 17: $30 one time charge for Lifetime Membership.

    Join between January 18 & January 31: $45 per year or $9.00 per month

    Feb. 1, 2010: $75 per year or $13 per month.

    All New You Challenge Participants who make it to the final voting round will have their dues returned to them and be issued a Lifetime Membership.

    Under How Do I Sign Up?, Step 2 - "Click Here" limk doesn't seem to be working...
